{weather} A drought has been brought down on Sorrento. The snow that had landed before is completely gone, replaced with browning grass and always sunny skies. The temperatures are high for the season, more like summer than like winter. Worry is flooding through each wolf, each pack, and the coolest places are in the disappearing ocean and the melting snow on the mountain-- if anyone can get that high.
The days are getting hotter, sun boring into the ground and each wolf's back. The temperatures are around fifty to sixty degrees; much, much higher than they should be in winter. Had any of these wolves known what they had in store for them, they would have accepted their fates in the summer and let Cadeyrn and his pack bring them to hell before the winter ever could.

Samara still has a meeting going on, you can find the link either in the camp or off as the thread of the month ( otm's have been updated! ) :3 So post and welcome back your long-lost alpha D< As for other news, I'm going to be making the history on biographies optional-- but in order to avoid doing it, you have to have already made two characters with histories. You have to include basic stuff on this-- say who their family was, what happened, and any sharp points in their history. However, you can do this bullet style c: Cha <3

10.31.09// Happy Halloween ;D It's been a long time since there was an announcement o-o I'll try to update this more often. I'm really sorry I haven't been posting ( or updating anything, such as OTM's ), but I've had a lot of stress going on in my life. There will be an activity check beginning tomorrow. The form will be the same as the last one, so just copy your old one and add in any updates. I'm going to get this site active once again, so we're all RPing and everything is updated. I'm also going to be a bit stricter on biographies. There will be threads coming up soon-- instead of the staff picking them, members will pick the OTM's by PMing me their votes. For the time of the activity check and a couple days after, you will not be able to make a character. So, if you have one that is incomplete, either remove it and PM it to yourself or something or finish it before the activity check is posted. There is going to be a new plot coming up soon, which will also be members' choice. Due to the fact that I haven't been posting and I know a lot of characters have been a bit inactive, there will be a third board in the character creation area for frozen characters. There will be more information on that later.
As soon as the activity check is over, there will be a lot of changes. First, all those threads mentioned above ( as well as some others ) will be made. After that, I'm going to be adding in a ton of new codes. Next would be the skin, new mascot, and probably more boards. At some point the site is likely to go into MM for, at most, two days, but that doesn't mean that you can become inactive. The rules will also be edited, and I'm probably going to begin forcing people to make different accounts for each character so they can be sorted into groups. Please try to PM me all the links to threads that you don't want archived. Sooner or later, there will be auditions for spots that are opened, bans will be placed, and other such things will be happening. Just prepare yourself for major changes here. I may already start working on the codes, so don't be alarmed if the site looks screwed up.

general rules ;;
[x] Respect everyone on this forum. No excuses. This also means no being racist, sexist, or discriminating religion. Every person is their own person, and if you don't like them then just deal with it.
[x] This is a semi-literate to literate site. Try to write at least 100 words ( there is a word count beneath your posts ) and you must have decent spelling and grammar ( spell check your posts! ). Beginners are welcome, as long as you are willing to learn.
[x] It's fine to curse in character, but please don't make it too excessive. A little bit of cursing ( as long as it's not every other word ) is alright out of character.
[x] I hate chat-speak. Don't use it. ( Example: How r u 2day? )
[x] No spamming! Your post will be deleted without notice. Spamming also includes repeating words ( hi hi hi hi hi ), excessive letters ( heeeeeeyyyyyy ), or one-word posts: Hi How Are You?
[x] Try not to double-post. Use the modify button if you need to change something. The only time you're allowed to is if you finished a character and said that you finished it, need to post with two or more characters in one thread, or are making character logs.
[x] Make sure your signature and all other pictures are at the most 500px wide so they don't stretch the board. Anything larger will be changed to a URL.
[x] Liquid time is allowed, though not suggested for beginners. ( Liquid means that you keep your character in multiple threads at once. ) At most, you can be in three threads, excluding important ones like meetings.
[x] Pack members may post anywhere, but loners and rogues are suggested to stay off pack territory unless they are asking for acceptance or plan on getting in a fight.
[x] When one of your characters die, show me the thread they died in and I will move their bio to the appropriate board. ( You have to roleplay their death, not just say 'they died'. )
[x] Just to make sure the site isn't overflowing with characters, here are the limits: One star: three characters. Two stars: six characters. Three stars: ten characters. Four stars: fifteen characters. Five stars: unlimited.
[x] The most important rule - have fun!
fighting rules ;;
[x] No power-playing, not even minor things. PPing means controlling another person's character by making them do something that the character's roleplayer didn't say they did.
[x] No godmoding, either. G-moding means making your character invincible in a fight. Your character must take a hit; no, they don't have to get hit every time, but they can't dodge every blow, either. You have to be hit at least once for every three attacks.
[x] Make the fight reasonable. A pup isn't going to win against a full-grown wolf.
[x] If a winner cannot be decided, one of the staff members will choose.
[x] Don't assume that your attack hit; let the other roleplayer have a chance to respond or dodge.
[x] Don't take what happens in the thread personally; no matter how mean the posts may seem to you, it's only aimed at your character. It has nothing to do with you.
mating rules ;;
[x] Post in the mate thread when your character finds a mate.
[x] The earliest your wolf can bear pups is when it is three years of age; no sooner.
[x] You may mate during any season.
[x] Your wolf must be pregnant for at least two real weeks after mating before she can give birth.
[x] If you have a graphic mating, put a warning CLEARLY in the title.
[x] Force-breeding is allowed, but has some rules: -- Be respectful to the other person. If they don't want their character forced, then please don't. -- Chances are smaller that you'll have pups if you're forced, but it is still very likely. -- If either wolf is any younger than three years old, there will be no pups. -- Your wolf can fight back. The forcer must wait for their reaction. -- Your wolf can be forced or can force as many times as you let it. It can become pregnant right after a birth, even.
[x] You can choose how many pups to have, but no more than six to a litter; four is the average. If the mother is force-bred, then I will decide if the breeding was successful or not.
[x] Pups should stay with their mother until they are old enough to survive on their own.
[x] Make sure both the mother and the father agree on how many pups they will each keep. The rest will be put up for adoption.
activity rules ;;
[x] If you don't post your bio within a week of joining, your account will be deleted. If you wish to come back and be active, just join again.
[x] You must post at least once every two weeks. Real life may be more important, but you must at least know what's going on around the site.
[x] Those with high positions should come on at least once a week; although, you should be coming on more often than that.
[x] Post when you're going away or if you're going to be inactive for a while so I don't think you forgot about the site.
rules for staff ;;
[x] Don't abuse your powers, please.
[x] There are no open slots for staff. Don't ask.
[x] Just like any other member, you are susceptible to punishment.
[x] If you see someone not following the rules, give them a warning first. If they continue breaking the rules, they will be banned and given a warning in their profile, considering the severity of what they are doing. If they are still breaking the rules after this, depending on what they are doing, their account will most likely be deleted.
[x] You cannot accept your own bios, but feel free to accept all others. Make sure they meet the requirements, though. Do not move the thread to the accepted sub-board until you have added their information to the Gender/Elemental Stats and Pack Stats.
[x] Keep in mind that you are an example to all other members.
[x] If I feel that you are not active enough, you will be notified with an e-mail. After that, you may be demoted.
[x] Now go out there and act as crazy as you want! >D

[x] Here are the additions to your warnings. Once you reach one hundred percent, you'll be banned for a staff determined amount of time. It could range from two hours to permanently, so be careful with what you're doing >P breaking . . . . general rules-- anywhere between five to thirty percent fighting rules-- anywhere between fifteen to fifty percent activity rules-- anywhere between thirty to fifty percent mating rules-- anywhere between thirty to eighty percent copyright rules-- anywhere between eighty and one hundred percent major-er things changing something major without permission-- anywhere between sixty and ninety percent doing something major without permission-- anywhere between sixty and ninety five percent disobeying staff-- anywhere between seventy and one hundred percent inactivity four weeks of unstated inactivity ( normal member )-- deletion three weeks of unstated inactivity ( hierarchy )-- demotion ( removal of position, someone else gets it ) two weeks of unstated inactivity ( staff )-- demotion ( admin to mod, mod to member )
[x] You get a small warning; if someone tells you as you're breaking the rule that you're breaking it, stop then or they'll report you to me ( you better >P ) and I'll add it to your profile. If you've made an offense already, it'll be let go. However, if you make another, you will get twice the normal warning.
